Ogre-Sized Fun! Shrek The Musical Swamps North America in 2024

Get ready to relive the fairytale (or should we say fairytale parody) because Shrek The Musical is back on tour for 2024! This all-new, reimagined production brings everyone's favorite green ogre back to the stage, with a fresh take that promises to be even more intimate and engaging than before.

We were tickled green when the production company and audio engineers decided to purchase some W1 cabling and snakes from us here at Echotone Music. Crews at the State Theatre in Cleveland Ohio got the equipment first and began getting it set up for the first run of shows at this magnificent venue.

What's New with Shrek in 2024?

The Tony Award-winning duo of Jeanine Tesori (music) and David Lindsay-Abaire (book) have revisited their creation, giving Shrek The Musical a facelift for this new tour. They've tweaked the score and script to emphasize the core message of self-acceptance and finding love in unexpected places.

Taking the helm for this reimagining is director and choreographer Danny Mefford. He's aiming to bring the show back to its roots, highlighting the humor and heart that made Shrek a pop culture phenomenon.

The tour kicked off in February 2024 and is scheduled to visit over 40 cities across North America. That means there's a good chance Shrek will be lumbering his way to a theater near you!

June 21–23, 2024: Wilmington, NC at Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College

July 23–24, 2024: San Antonio, TX at H-E-B Performance Hall

July 26–28, 2024: Kansas City, MO at Starlight Theatre

July 30–31, 2024: Knoxville, TN at Tennessee Theatre

August 2–4, 2024: Detroit, MI at Fisher Theatre

These are just a small snippet of upcoming shows. Shrek the musical is booked through out the entire year of 2024 through December.  A cast off Broadway will also be performing for 6 weeks only in London at Eventim Apollo from July 19 2024.
