Frans Bohman was raised in Pine City, In the Southern Tier of NY, about 10 minutes outside of Elmira, and has two sisters. At the Early age of 9 Bohman’s mother started his musical career by signing him up for vocal lessons at which time he also started playing percussion instruments in school. It wasn’t until three years later, when Frans was 12 years old, that he started playing guitar. Through high school and over the last 10 years he has been in a number of different bands. Bohman received his Associates Degree from FLCC in Music, then graduated from Nazareth College in 2010 for Music Education and guitar, from where he also received his NYS certification in Birth-12 Music, with an emphasis in Vocal/General music.  He is currently working on his Master’s Degree at Nazareth for Music Education and specializes in styles such as classical, rock, metal, blues, and anything improvisational. Frans meets the needs that accompany teaching various age groups by taking a flexible, open-minded approach.

Lessons are detailed to the student’s individual musical experience; focusing on what the student hopes to take with him or her after the lesson is over. He is also equipped with different learning materials to help students surmount any learning hurdles they might encounter. Frans has a passion for music and for teaching, he passes this onto his students with his musical ability and they are some of his brightest accolades. Some of his more well known accomplishments to date have been participating in the NYSSMA conference, and opening for Maylene and The Sons of Disaster this past May.
